A simple guide to Mosaic's U.S. dollar accounts, payments, stablecoin, card and treasury capabilities for global businesses, with an initial focus on Cayman entities.
What is Mosaic?
Mosaic is a corporate financial platform that brings accounts, payments, stablecoins, cards and treasury tools into one experience. Mosaic Technologies, a Cayman Islands exempted company, operates the platform and provides the technology. U.S. dollar accounts, payments and stablecoin services are provided by Dakota Ridge, Inc. through its partner bank, Lead Bank, Member FDIC; cards are issued by Third National and the card program is managed by Rain; regulated treasury is provided by Mosaic Capital Inc.. Mosaic does not hold customer funds.
Who is it built for?
Mosaic is built for eligible business customers, including Cayman foundations, funds, SPVs, holding companies, family offices and digital-asset businesses. It is not a consumer product.
How fast is onboarding?
Most complete, straightforward applications can be reviewed and approved within one business day. Complex ownership structures or additional information requests may take longer.
Where are accounts available?
Accounts are available to eligible businesses in supported non-sanctioned jurisdictions, subject to country and customer restrictions. The initial product is optimized for Cayman entities.
What account details does a customer receive?
Customers receive individually addressable U.S. dollar account and routing numbers issued by Dakota Ridge, Inc. through its partner bank, Lead Bank, Member FDIC, under the customer's agreement with Dakota. Customers can use those details to send and receive payments in their company's name. Mosaic does not hold customer funds.
Can customers send and receive first-party and third-party payments?
Yes. Customers can receive funds from and send funds to both first-party and approved third-party counterparties, subject to screening and transaction review.
What payment rails are available?
The platform currently supports inbound and outbound U.S. dollar payments through:
- ACH
- Same Day ACH
- Domestic wire and FedWire
- U.S. dollar SWIFT
What currencies are supported?
U.S. dollars are supported today. Currency conversion, when available, will be provided by a licensed FX provider at the rate and fee it quotes. Mosaic does not set exchange rates or earn a spread on conversions.
Can customers make international payments?
Yes. Customers can send and receive eligible international payments using U.S. dollar SWIFT.
How long do payments take?
Timing depends on the rail, submission time and review requirements:
- ACH: generally one to two business days
- Same Day ACH: generally the same business day when submitted before cutoff
- Domestic wire: generally the same business day when submitted before cutoff
- U.S. dollar SWIFT: generally one to three business days
How does the fiat-to-stablecoin flow work?
Conversion between U.S. dollars and stablecoins is performed by Dakota Ridge, Inc.. Incoming U.S. dollars are converted by the provider into the customer's configured platform balance. For an outbound fiat payment, the provider converts the required balance back to U.S. dollars and the payment is sent through the selected payment rail. Mosaic does not perform conversions or hold stablecoins.
What stablecoin options are available?
Customers may use an on-platform stablecoin balance, USDC or other supported off-platform stablecoins, depending on their approved account configuration.
Can stablecoins be transferred to an external wallet?
On-platform stablecoin balances cannot be withdrawn directly. USDC and other supported stablecoins can be transferred on and off the platform. Wallets are provided and secured by Dakota Ridge, Inc.; Mosaic does not hold private keys or customer digital assets.
Can I earn yield by holding the on-platform stablecoin?
Yes. Customers can earn up to 3.5% in rewards on their on-platform stablecoin balance, depending on their plan.
How are funds backing the on-platform stablecoin protected?
The on-platform stablecoin is issued by its issuer, not by Mosaic. Information about the assets backing it and how they are held is published by the issuer. Mosaic does not hold or control those assets and makes no representation about them.
What type of cards are available?
Mosaic supports business Visa cards using a fully collateralized credit BIN structure. The cards do not provide revolving unsecured credit or any yield on balances.
Where can cards be issued?
Cards are available to eligible business customers in supported jurisdictions, including the Cayman Islands, and are issued by Third National under licence from Visa; the card program is managed by Rain (Signify Holdings, Inc.). Cards are not available to U.S. persons. In the Cayman Islands, cards are available only to exempted entities. Eligibility is subject to jurisdiction and approval.
What card controls are available?
Available controls may include card activation and closure, spending limits, transaction restrictions and cardholder management. Exact controls and form factors are confirmed during onboarding.
Can customers access treasury products?
Eligible customers may access regulated treasury products provided by Mosaic Capital Inc., an affiliate of Mosaic Technologies registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority under the Securities Investment Business Act. These products are available only to customers who qualify as sophisticated persons or high net worth persons under that Act, which is confirmed at onboarding. They are separate from the financial account, are not bank deposits, are not provided by Mosaic and do not guarantee a return. Capital at risk.
Can customers manage multiple entities and approvals?
Yes. The platform is designed to provide a consolidated view across approved entities while keeping separate accounts, permissions and records. Role-based access and multi-approver workflows are supported.
What reporting is available?
Customers can view account, payment, conversion and card activity in the platform. Available reports and accounting integrations depend on the product configuration.
